Submitting Nominations for the Executive Board

Each spring, members can begin to submit nominations for the open Executive Board positions.  Board members begin their terms of office on July 1, and serve a two year term until June 30 of the second year (except as noted below for the President-Elect, President, and Past-President).  The Webmaster position is appointed by the Executive Board and reviewed for reappointment each year.

At the Town Meeting 2004, members voted to change the Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Member-at-Large positions to staggered two-year terms. This change allows members to learn their position more thoroughly, and provides continuity to the Executive Board.

In odd years, these positions are elected:

In even years, these positions are elected:

*President-Elect is elected every year for a three-year commitment.

President-Elect (will serve as President the following year, and then Past-President in the third year)

Nominate Yourself or Someone Else (with their permission of course)!!

Before submiting your nomination, please confirm with the person you're nominating to ensure that they are willing to run for the office you're suggesting. The best way is to nominate yourself. If you are interested in a position, nominate yourself for that position!

Board service is a great way to develop your leadership skills, build your resume, and get to know some really wonderful people! In a small organization such as WSASEA, ideally, everyone should serve on the board at least once to do their part. The time commitment is minimal, the teamwork is fantastic, and the service you give to your fellow colleagues is invaluable. Please consider joining the Executive Board today!

If you are interested in serving on the Board but aren't sure what your responsibilities would entail, visit the Executive Board page to review the position descriptions. Duties are described on a calendar year format so you can see what you would be doing throughout your term. Visit the Board Resources page to see what tools are available to make your service easy and smooth.
